The Bellissens University Campus aims to revive the traces of this old farmland in the form of structure for the university’s public spaces. Students will walk between rows of trees along the tracks, gather in clearings in the fields and study in the shade of the fruit trees in a growing campus and a landscape in transformation.
The Ploughed slab, a large 120 x 120 x 12 cm. slab which can be removed and relocated without deteriorating, is a response to these two premises: working with the agricultural memory of this place, and also with the intrinsic flexibility of its transformation. Its form is like ploughed field, with different finishes in its brown concrete furrows. The combination of these two models allows more linear or more disordered structures to be produced in response to the aims of each project.
