Rodrigo Caro Gardens, on a steep slope with a 21 m high difference, is transition zone between the city and the beautiful Collserola Park. The project expresses a desire to involve the street with the garden vegetation and in doing so, discover a formal language for this operation. The garden layout proposes a gently sloping route through a succession of Mediterranean species, well adapted to the city climate, that guide visitors towards the three concrete platforms installed as recreation and rest areas.
The 9, 10 and 12 metre Ful series street lamp columns are interspersed with the vegetation to light up the platforms, while Morella Lumina lamps are installed in the lookout spaces at the end of the platforms, alongside the rest benches. Morella litter bins accompany visitors along the ramps up to the platforms, where Rural drinking fountains are installed beside the recreation zones that contain children´s playgrounds.
The project for these gardens, designed in 2008 by Imma Jansana, Conchita de la Villa and Robert de Paauw in conjunction with Escofet, is installed in Barcelona´s Nou Barris district.
