The Islero modular backless bench is made from a single piece of stone, with different combinatorial options that carpet the space with whimsical, and apparently unexpected, shapes. Its geometry accentuates the lightness of the element, allowing the matter to levitate and transmitting the sensation that it has weight but not gravity. The heaviness of this piece means it can be installed on the ground without the need for anchors, resting in silence as just another element of its surroundings.
Islero is the name of the Eduardo Miura-bred bull that mortally wounded the legendary bullfighter Manolete. The formal design of the Islero bench resembles that of a bull hide.
Natural artifice, inspired by a neo-organic appearance, whose combinatorial capacity is always present in the installation category. Its ergonomics allow for different body positions, and the practising of leisure or work activities. Designed as a unique model, Islero is a landscape element for use by a single person, and which grows with collective use, following the logical order of its combinatorial capacity with the hexagonal geometry of its compositional background.
Made from reinforced concrete and with a white etched surface finish with glass spheres embedded in it that reflect both sunlight and artificial light in a surprising and dynamic way when one looks at it. It is manufactured in accordance with the standard Escofet colour chart. Due to its heavy weight and stability, it rests subtly on the ground, with no need for anchors. The 35-degree angle cut at the ends permits the installation of continuity modules, with no specific requirements in terms of precision.
