Gerard Arqué

Gerard Arqué (Barcelona, 1986) is an industrial designer based in Barcelona, graduated from the Elisava Design School and lighting designer from the UPC, he began his career as a professional in the industry. After several collaborations with Barcelona studios, he joined at Escofet 1886 where he has been product design manager for the development of new urban furniture from the Escofet collection.

 

As a professional, he pursues a simple and innovative design. His work is based by the conviction that experience of public space strengthens social and civic engagement, renaturing, human health and well-being. His main objective is to design honest, emotional and useful objects, with practical solutions and environmental awareness.

 

For Escofet he has designed the Roc litter bin and the Trébol tile, and in collaboration with Martín Caneda the Raval bike rack and the Satellite landscape concept in UHPC.

 

His designs have received international recognition. The winner of a Gold Delta in 2018 for Trébol and a Silver Delta in 2020 for Satellite in the category of Exterior Equipment, he has also been selected in several editions of the ADI-FAD Delta Awards. First Catalonia Ecodesign Award 2019 for Alpine, an iF Design Award 2021 for Satellite and a Design Europa Awards 2016 for Raval.
