Plaza Inmaculada square is located next to the road that acts as a central axis through the town of Tamarite de Litera (Huesca), creating a transitional space between the streets in the town centre.
With a trapezoidal ground plan, the surface area is bordered by roads on three sides and it surrounds its most representative feature, namely the monolith dedicated to the Virgin of the Immaculate Conception.The proposal put forward in the project is based on maintaining the significance of the monolith as the most representative element, rearranging the flowerbeds and adding new vegetation to shape a natural barrier to the roads, securing larger spaces for the use and enjoyment of the inner area
Around this main element there is an area highlighted by cobblestone paving where the Twig benches are placed in a circle to give form to the concept of modularity and the fluidity of spaces, generating “meeting places”. Socrates model benches have been distributed around the rest of the square, allowing people to sit on either side of them and choose the perspective they wish to see. Together with the circular Soc benches with LED lighting underneath them that act as signposts and, at the same time, provide an “invitation to stay” effect in the public space, it also has a set of three Prat tables. The furniture is complemented by the Play fountain and Urbana litter bins.
