Vilablareix (Girona province) has planned for residential growth to the south of the old town centre. The characteristic productive landscape here is an mosaic of cereal croplands and scattered coppices which emphasize the flatness of the farmland with their height.

The park follows the boundary between the residential and industrial expansion areas for 500 meters, acting as a sponge between the two along the former Güell River, now diverted upstream from this area although its rich riparian vegetation has been maintained. The park was designed as a system of alluvial terraces parallel to the river in order to augment the capacity of the watercourse. It lies approximately 2 meters below the perimeter roadway, which includes vegetation barriers between the parkland and the industries.
