The Carmel fountain has an attractive, discreet, cylindrical shape that allows it to blend in with its surroundings. It has a concrete base that houses pressure regulation and shut-off valve mechanisms and a hidden drain trap that makes it unnecessary to build auxiliary installation pits. The channel from the exterior is open-ended, to reduce clogging.

This fountain was designed in 2000 as a complementary urban element for the Carmel tree surround collection designed six years earlier, and now widely used in Barcelona. The spout is protected by two flaps that protect it from direct contact with the user’s mouth. The drive mechanism is a chrome-plated timed push button and easy to apply.

It has a dry-mix concrete base, a cast aluminium ring that is fitted to the base, a nuanced column in stainless steel sheeting and a cast aluminium upper tray. The water drainage channel is in polished stainless steel and is open-ended. The tap mechanism is a commercially available timer button that is easy to install.

The concrete base is recessed in the paving. It supports the cylindrical body of the fountain and contains a box with a cut-off valve for connecting to the water mains, facilitating the assembly of the unit. The base also has a drain trap system.
