The Sheraton Park is located in front of the Sheraton Doha Hotel, in Dafna. Situated at the top end of the Corniche and in the heart of the capital’s bustling business district, the park has been designed with a combination of soft and hard landscape, using geometric shapes. The seven hectares of public gardens are plenty of grassy areas for picnics, while a large pyramid-shaped mound offers picturesque views of the Corniche and West Bay.
Escofet’s monolithic cast stone Yin-Yang backless bench is the only siting model in the park. The dual design of this item represents the interaction between Yin and Yang, opposite but complementary forces that drive our universe. The surfaces of these are highlighted by the subtle variations in their finish: the line symbolizing duality also divides the polished plane from the etched face.
