Glòries Shopping Centre has carried out an exhaustive refurbishment process to completely transform its appearance, opening up its enclosed areas in order to connect them with the exterior.
The first phase of the Glòries refurbishment process began during the first quarter of 2012 and entailed the transformation of Carrer Verd, formerly a closed gallery, into an open commercial street that is now fully integrated with its surroundings. The second phase consisted of renovating the entire façade of the centre, eliminating the top floor, closed galleries and walkways and refurbishing the public areas. The architect studio entrusted with executing the work was L35 Arquitectes, while Xavier Mariscal was responsible for designing the new graphic image, urban elements and paving of the outdoor areas.
As part of this project, Escofet, in tandem with Xavier Mariscal, developed the Poble Nou hexagonal paving and the three planters Jules et Jim and Catherine. Escofet was also responsible for the Raval bicycle stands installed at the two shopping centre entrances.
