Mercè Llopis is an architect by the ETSABarcelona of the UPC.
Currently (2022) she is Director of Urban Transformation and Innovation of the Management of the Chief Architect of the Urban Ecology Area of the Barcelona City Council where she has been working since 2016.
Previously she was Director of Services of the Urban Projects and Municipal Works Area of the City Council of Prat de Llobregat where she worked from 1992 to 2016 in different responsibilities linked to urban planning, public space and municipal facilities.
In his first professional stage (1992-1989) he worked as an architect in several architectural firms: Romeu&Gallego, MBM Arquitectes, Josep Lluís Mateo, Beth Galí-Màrius Quintana- Carme Fiol- Andreu Arriola and Guillermo Bertólez. Since finishing her degree she has worked intermittently with Alfonso de Luna, architect, in the realization of different competitions and projects.
She has received several awards and recognitions for his professional work, being finalist of the II Premi d'Arquitectura Caixa de Barcelona and the Dragados Award for Final Projects (1990), finalist in the FAD awards, ephemeral spaces, for the exhibition “El Prat, per viure-hi" (1995) and finalist in the Delta ADI-FAD awards for industrial design for the piece of urban furniture Prat for Escofet (2005).
