The exhibition 'Miguel Milá - (Pre)industrial Designer' at the Madrid Design Festival presents a comprehensive retrospective of the father of Spanish industrial design through a journey showcasing his most iconic creations. Interweaving personal trajectory and creations, the exhibition houses over 200 pieces, including original plans and drawings, ranging from prototypes to his most recent works.

Throughout his career, Milá has been concerned with providing solutions to the natural human instinct for seeking comfort, employing a language of gentle lines. Particularly notable is his first collaboration with Escofet in 1991. His meticulous study of urban benches allowed him to design the elegant modular Tram benches, made of concrete in the Barcelona Olympic Ring. These benches promote social interaction and enhance the sense of community. Another great example is the Bruno bench, manufactured in UHPC concrete, which brings domestic comfort to urban spaces, presenting an essential and welcoming design. Similarly, the Laurel & Hardy urban litter bin combines two cylindrical bodies in concrete: one sturdy for the Hardy litter bin and another slimmer one for the Laurel ashtray.
