Transformación del centro de Ciudad Real con mobiliario de Escofet

The project for the transformation of the centre of Ciudad Real re-empowers the city’s inhabitants, converting the road network into a unique and accessible platform that gives priority to pedestrians, extending green areas and adding value to existing emblematic areas and buildings, while increasing permeability throughout the entire area through the installation of sustainable urban drainage systems. The transformation has brought about the recovery of the city’s shopping area, making it safer and more agreeable, with leisure areas for the enjoyment and relaxation of its citizens.

The objective of the city centre pacification, which spans a length of 450 metres, is to ensure sustainable actions through the use of recycled concrete for both the paving and site furnishings. These benefits, along with those of the project, have a positive effect on the environment, reducing CO2 emissions and promoting active mobility, in addition to increasing the vegetation along the urban section.

New site furnishings have been installed, consisting of Box backless benches with Universe accessory that meet accessibility criteria; and large-capacity planters such as Icaria, Esfera or Binaria which highlight the different locations in which they are installed. Lastly, as a finish touch to the operation, Prat and Prat Mini units were installed, in addition to Bollards barrier systems, Kelly backless benches and Roc litter bins.
