The Gas Tower project in Barcelona incorporates a public space on the block where the building is located. This space has a flowing arrangement that accompanies the cantilevered volume supported by the two towers. This operation on the streetscape is based on a series of specially designed products, which in turn include concepts and references relating to the corporate image of the Gas Natural holding company: a butterfly.
The Papallosa graphic pavement contains an abstract butterfly shape -papallona in Catalan-, alternating with black pieces; the Bordillo Mariposa cross-section resembles a butterfly taking flight; Límite Fuente with its oblong section reproduces the skin folds around our eyes when we look up to enjoy the view of the tower; and the Zig-zag modular bench with its self-bearing section is aligned in front of the carpet of Papallosa paving slabs.
