The promenade of Paseo Marítimo Marqués de la Hermida represents a fundamental change in the west end of the seafront of Santander and the Maliaño dock. The different uses are organized along the 625 lineal meters of the promenade, articulating micro-spaces for interaction.
The most remarkable thing of the place before the construction of the Paseo Marítimo, were the port fishing uses that were conserved in the front of the cliff.
The proposal suggests a comprehensive transformation of the place, giving value to coexistence with traditional port-fishing uses, and restoring part of the natural look that someday was converted into an artificial sandbank.
Escofet has participated with the Lola lamps, that provide identity to the space through their white cylindrical luminaires.
